AAP Giving Opportunities

Transform architecture studios from traditional drafting to a combination of manual and electronic capability for each work station
  • 200 needed; $600 per student
  • Upgrade studios with furnishings that enable students to draw, storage, lights, tables and computer accessories.

Upgrade computer facilities throughout College

  • Laptops for presentations (four to five needed at $2,500 each)
  • Projectors ($3,000 each)
  • Digital cameras ($1,000 each)

3-D Printers (three to four needed at $30,000 each) for use by all AAP students and faculty

Art Department needs digital equipment for new digital lab ($100,000)

AAP NYC, 50 West 17th Street (total need $250,000)

  • Sponsor a student (15 at $1,000 per month).
  • Bus charter: $1,000–$2,000 to help 45 students travel to AAP in New York City for special art, planning, and architecture field study trips.
  • Sponsor a lecture in New York City ($2,000 per lecture includes honorarium, travel, reception, and event costs).
  • Support of visiting faculty in New York City: $40,000–$50,000 per semester.
  • Equipment for New York City space, such as tables, chairs, cameras, digital, and computing equipment, library books (gift in kind).

Sponsor a student for international study trips ($2,000 – $2,500)

  • Switzerland — 15 students and one faculty
  • Singapore — 12 students and one faculty
  • Brazil Cities summer program

Sponsor architecture studio for prototypes and case studies ($25,000)

  • New studio to focus on use and study of specific materials (ex. aluminum) to use for building projects in this material. Purpose is to create sustainable design and affordable housing for rural upstate New York communities.

City and Regional Planning students for international conferences and/or travel ($1,500– $2,000)

Several special projects to upgrade facilities and improve teaching space within AAP ($25,000– $50,000)
  • Renovate computer lab in City and Regional Planning for physical planning teaching ($30,000).
  • Extension of wireless network throughout College facilities ($15,000–$75,000).
  • Support for publications for all College departments.
  • Sponsorship of publications department ($60,000 for 3 years).
  • Sponsor development of exhibitions and traveling exhibitions ($10,000–$15,000).

Create publications of student work

  • Art students portfolio ($10,000–$15,000).
  • Architecture projects publication ($10,000–$15,000).
  • City and Regional Planning publication ($10,000–$15,000).
