We require an interview for all applicants except those who have attended Cornell's summer program: Introduction to Architecture. The interviews are held on campus with Cornell architecture faculty or with department alumni off campus
. Official interviews must be arranged through the Architecture, Art, and Planning Admissions Office. The purpose of the interview is to explore your interest in architecture and to understand how that interest developed. A formal portfolio need not be presented at the interview, but we do expect you to bring samples of your work. Most interviews are scheduled in the fall, but transfers also may schedule interviews in February and March. Once you are certain that you will be applying to Cornell’s architecture program, you can request an interview by contacting the
AAP Admissions Office or using our
Online Interview Request Form.
Important Note Architecture interviews are evaluative and carry significant weight in the admissions selection process. Please request an interview only if you are quite certain you will be applying to the architecture program.
