Research Linked to Outreach

Many faculty members undertake research that includes work with communities, cities, nonprofit organizations, and other groups. Students are involved as research assistants, interns, in courses, and through theses and research papers. In addition, a number of programs help students conduct their own applied research.

Clarence S. Stein Research Fellowships provide funding for research and outreach by graduate students.
Cornell Urban Scholars Program (CUSP) includes internship programs for both graduate and undergraduate students in the summer.
Design for Health bridges the gap between the emerging research base on community design and healthy living and the everyday realities of local government planning.
Linking Economic Development and Child Care identifies the economic linkages of child care from a regional economy perspective.
New York Economic Development is a collaboration working for a more vibrant, equitable, and sustainable New York economy.
Progressive Cities and Neighborhood Planning,1969-2005 preserves the history of progressive cities, organizations, and individual planners.
Restructuring Local Government provides information for local governments and is done in collaboration with Cornell’s Cooperative Extension.
