Undergraduate Degrees

Department of Architecture
At the undergraduate level, the Architecture Department offers a five-year professional program leading to a Bachelor of Architecture degree. In some cases, students not wishing to complete the B.Arch degree may graduate after four years with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in architecture. In addition, a four-year program in history of architecture leads to the Bachelor of Science.

Department of Art
The undergraduate program in art at Cornell provides a comprehensive education in fine arts techniques as well as a critical understanding of the visual arts. About 60 percent of the B.F.A. degree requirements are studio courses; the remaining courses include liberal arts requirements and electives chosen from throughout the university. Concentrations include painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, electronic imaging and combined media.

Department of City and Regional Planning
The Urban and Regional Studies (URS) program helps students develop the insights, knowledge and technical skills needed to address the challenges of contemporary urban life. URS educates individuals who can make a difference in what happens to a neighborhood in transition, a community threatened by dam construction, and endangered park or historic district, a city faced by job loss, or a municipal government seeking to make its citizens secure.
