ODI Programs and Services

Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP)
This program is for eligible New York State students pursuing licensure or professional careers in architecture, law, scientific, technical and health related fields.


Diversity Hosting Weekend (DHW)
This weekend is held in April. Visiting high school students are hosted by Cornell students to gain a better understanding of the academic and social aspects of student life at Cornell.

Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP)
This program provides eligible New York State students with comprehensive services to ensure their academic success despite disadvantages based on educational or economic circumstances. HEOP is administered through the State Programs Office and AAP’s director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusiveness. Eligibility is determined by New York State’s residency and economic requirements.

Pre-freshman Summer Program (PSP)
The Learning Strategies Center sponsors this six-week program to enhance the performance and preparation for selected first-year students enrolling in the fall. Students are selected by the college through the admission process. Students are pre-enrolled in academic courses and receive credit for their performance.

Vertner Woodson Tandy Symposium
The Minority Organization of Architecture, Art and Planning (MOAAP) sponsors this annual symposium, named in honor of an African American architecture student at Cornell University, to explore issues in architecture, art and planning. Tandy was the first African American architect licensed to practice in the State of New York. Additionally, he was a co-founder of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.
