Faculty Profile

Carla Leitao is a licensed architect in Europe and co-founded Aumstudio in New York, an architecture and multimedia office. Recent projects include SUTURE, a multimedia installation in Los Angeles, and an apartment block in Lisbon, Portugal, currently under construction.

Leitao also co-founded Umasideia in Lisbon, Portugal, an architecture and engineering office. She previously collaborated and consulted for several architecture and engineering offices, including Herzog & deMeuron in Switzerland and Aires Mateus e Associados in Portugal.

Leitao has taught Design Studios at Upenn, Barnard and City College. She also co-taught Design Studios at Columbia University and Pratt with Ed Keller, Yehuda Safran and Steven Holl. She has held workshops on Architecture, Urbanism and New Media in Taichung, Taiwan, and Tokyo, Japan.
