Aquatics Centre
After their experimentation modeling within large tanks of water, investigating water-to-land edge conditions, and completing a thorough site analysis of East Shore Marina Park in Ithaca, NY, first-year students were asked to complete a proposal for an aquatics centre. The final proposal layers the two pools in a sort of intersection, using a combination of steel and natural materials to delineate the conceptual ideas behind the design -- most strongly influenced by in-depth site analysis.
