Porus Olpadwala has previously served as Dean of Cornell's College of Architecture, Art, and Planning. His interest is political economy — comparative international development, international urbanization, technology development and transfer, and transnational corporations - especially in Asia and western Europe.

He has consulted for the Ford Foundation, the U.S. Agency for International Development, UNICEF, U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization, and IBM Corporation.
