Student Profile

B.S. Urban and Regional Studies 2007

AAP has been a great place to spend my four years as an undergraduate. Being a part of AAP creates a sense of identity and pride for your College and major within the greater Cornell community. The College is a small community that allows for close interaction with professors and fellow students, both in and outside of the classroom. The Urban and regional studies major allows me to explore a diverse collection of topics related to cities and regions -- from urban agriculture, the environment, and social justice to quantitative analysis and economic development.

The URS major also gives me flexibility to reach outside of the department to learn about issues from other perspectives, whether they be from architects, anthropologists, political scientists, engineers, or sociologists. Because of this, each of my friends within AAP seems to have distinct and fascinating interests. This fall I am excited to be President of the Organization for Urban and Regional Studies and help AAP continue to grow as a great place for students.
