Work started/completed from August 15 – Sept. 14
- Steel plate girders have arrived at the production facility in Quebec and are being fabricated before being trucked to the site.
- Stone testing is in progress for the building’s marble fascia.
- A 3D model is being created by the manufacturer of the metal soffit panels for the underside of the upper plate for final technical review prior to forming of the final stamping die and production of the panels.
- The architects are redesigning portions of the landscape plan, site utilities, and garage interface to accommodate the postponement of the Central Avenue Parking Garage construction.
- Storm and sewer work progresses along University Avenue. Once the sewers are tied in to the existing network, access work will begin for underground utilities near Lincoln Hall.
- The underpinning of Sibley Hall’s north wall continues as the underpinning of Rand Hall’s west wall nears completion.
Upcoming Activity
- Drilling for the installation of the caissons starts next week. A total of 133 drilled piers will be positioned to function as anchors for the foundation and to support the columns that will be erected. Approximately six caissons will be situated each day.
- Structural upgrades for the Foundry will begin in early October.
