Jeffrey Blanchard studied the History of Art and Architecture at Stanford University (B.A. 1973), the Università di Firenze (Fulbright Fellow, 1974), and Yale University (M.Phil. 1977), specializing in the Italian Renaissance. He won a Rome Prize Fellowship to the American Academy (1978-79) and has resided in Rome ever since, where he has dedicated himself principally to teaching and academic administration for American study programs. His institutional affiliations in Rome have included the University of Notre Dame, Pratt Institute, and Rensselaer Polytecnic Institute. In 1988 he began teaching courses in Renaissance and Baroque Architecture and Art for Cornell in Rome. He subsequently became the Rome Program's Academic and Field Trip Coordinator.
