B.Arch. 2006
Without exaggeration, the time I spent in Rome was the best time I had during my Cornell experience, and it wasn’t just because of the lack of snow. I was fortunate enough to spend two semesters in the city to which all roads lead, and the only regret I have is leaving.
I could go on for pages about the saturated history that is evident on every block or the unbelievably simple, yet incredible food. However, instead of repeating every guidebook, I would rather highlight the part of Rome that was most valuable to me, the environment produced by the intimate group of students that participated. It is a rare opportunity and a blessing to be able to spend such quality time with your friends and is even more special because of the rich cultural context. Although I doubt I’ll ever be able to find that kind of experience again, I am grateful to have been part of such an extraordinary part of Cornell.
