Abstract

Bearing is the final graduation week installment of the B.F.A. thesis exhibitions, showcasing a diverse range of work that explores the themes of identity, domesticity, migration, and metaphorical patterns.

Bearing investigates the personal narratives of the artists through sculpture, painting, printmaking, and large installation. Moreover, each artist demonstrates their lived experiences and interpersonal relationships to the world and their environments through medium-specific artistic processes. The majority of the artists in this exhibition identify as women and attempt to reveal their experiences in a hegemonic society. Themes in the show are connected through their use of color, pattern, texture, and medium. The artists are concluding the thematics of their undergraduate work in this show.
