Postering Guidelines
Guidelines
The following guidelines allow Cornell-affiliated organizations and individuals to advertise college- and university-wide events using 11" x 17" (or smaller) posters in designated locations inside Cornell AAP buildings. Staff from AAP Facilities and AAP Exhibition and Events will monitor indoor locations and remove posters outside of designated locations, improperly affixed posters, and outdated posters. All questions should be directed to AAP Exhibition and Events staff.
- Posters must be authored by Cornell University community members
- Posters cannot exceed 187 square inches (11" x 17", approximately A3)
- Posters must be affixed with thumbtacks or blue painter's tape
- Posters must comply with Cornell University's Expressive Activity PolicyOpens a Cornell link
- Posters must be in designated locations (marked with laminated signs) with no more than one poster per location
- While not required, it is recommended to list the sponsoring organization, unit, or individual on the poster
Signage
Each designated location is labeled with a laminated sign that reads "Designated Location for Posters" and includes a QR code to this policy.
Designated Locations
Milstein Hall
- Lower-Level Corridor: Dark gray pinup boards located to the left of the restrooms between Milstein Hall Dome and Bibliowicz Family Gallery. If this space is needed for class reviews, AAP Facilities and AAP Exhibition and Events staff may remove posters.
- Second Floor (L. P. Kwee Studios): Rolling pinup board positioned adjacent to the elevator. If the rolling pinup board is needed for class reviews, AAP Facilities and AAP Exhibition and Events staff may remove posters.
Sibley Hall
- Dragon Annex: Cork bulletin board adjacent to the entrance.
- East Side, Lower-Level: White bulletin board adjacent to the elevators; white bulletin board outside the AAP Store; gray bulletin board adjacent to Milstein Hall entrance to AAP Admissions and Student Services.
- East Side, First Floor: White bulletin board in vestibule in front of the elevators.
- East Side, Second Floor: Two gray bulletin boards above water fountains adjacent to the paper cutting area.
- West Side, First Floor: Two locked cabinets in the hallway and the vestibule. Provide posters to a staff member in the CRP Office in Room 110.
- West Side, Second Floor: Cork bulletin board outside restrooms next to Room 221.
Olive Tjaden Hall
- First Floor: White bulletin board adjacent to entrance; cork bulletin board next to marquee sign.
- Second Floor: Cork bulletin board above student mailboxes.
- Third Floor: Cork bulletin board next to stairwell.
- Fourth Floor: Cork bulletin board next to stairwell.
Rand Hall
- Second Floor: Gray bulletin board between the elevator and restrooms.
